Decorating with golf posters: the green of the fairway at home
The Art Deco swing, the green and warm woods make for a hushed kind of decor. Where to hang a golf poster, how to pair it with leather and oak, room by room.
Golf inspired a fairly precise poster category: our golf posters play on saturated greens, the stylised player silhouette and legendary courses. Augusta National in Georgia (home of the Masters since 1934), St Andrews in Scotland (the cradle of the game, with the first club founded in 1754), Pebble Beach in California. The vintage posters come mostly from the United States, 1920s to 40s, when golf was still a wealthy American's sport and the courses advertised themselves.
Our selection: the best-known courses, plus a few stylised posters of historic tournaments. Green-white-gold palette, vertical formats.

Before sports photography, illustration ruled the sporting poster. An aesthetic of gesture and speed that still works in any interior.
