Turnierplakate, Stadiondrucke, sportliche Bewegungen wie Art-Deco-Skulpturen behandelt. Unsere Sport-Poster erzählen eine gemeinsame Geschichte: Sport und Plakat sind miteinander gewachsen. Cassandre gestaltete in den 1930er-Jahren Sportplakate. Das Internationale Olympische Komitee gibt seit 1924 offizielle Plakate in Auftrag. Roland-Garros startete 1980 seine Reihe beauftragter Künstler (Arroyo 1981, Hartung 1983, Tàpies 1991).

Basketball, Fußball, Boxen: Mannschaftssport-Poster wecken ein Teenagerzimmer, ein Heim-Fitnessstudio oder ein Büro. Große Formate, dynamische Hängung, Color-Blocking, so geht es.
Bevor die Sportfotografie herrschte, dominierte die Illustration auf dem Sportplakat. Eine Aesthetik des Gestus und der Geschwindigkeit, die in jedem Interieur noch wirkt.
Seit 1980 hat jede Ausgabe des Turniers ihr eigenes Plakat, signiert von einem anderen Künstler. Ein Überblick über einen öffentlichen Auftrag, der zeitgenössische Kunst und Sandplatz in Dialog gebracht hat.
