Manifesti di tornei, stampe di stadi, gesti sportivi trattati come sculture Art Déco. I nostri poster sportivi raccontano una storia comune: lo sport e il manifesto sono cresciuti insieme. Cassandre firma manifesti sportivi negli anni 30. Il Comitato Olimpico Internazionale commissiona manifesti ufficiali dal 1924. Roland-Garros ha lanciato la sua serie di artisti commissionati nel 1980 (Arroyo nel 1981, Hartung nel 1983, Tàpies nel 1991).

Basket, calcio, boxe: i poster di sport di squadra svegliano una cameretta, una palestra di casa o un ufficio. Grandi formati, posa dinamica, color blocking, istruzioni per l'uso.
Prima della fotografia sportiva, l'illustrazione regnava sui manifesti sportivi. Un'estetica del gesto e della velocita che funziona ancora in qualsiasi interno.
Dal 1980, ogni edizione del torneo ha il suo manifesto, firmato da un artista diverso. Una panoramica di una committenza pubblica che ha fatto dialogare arte contemporanea e terra rossa.
