Affiches de tournois, posters de stades, gestes sportifs traités comme des sculptures Art Déco. Nos affiches de sport racontent une histoire commune : le sport et l'affiche ont grandi ensemble. Cassandre signe des affiches sportives dans les années 30. Le Comité international olympique commande des affiches officielles depuis 1924. Roland-Garros lance sa série d'artistes commissionnés en 1980 (Arroyo en 1981, Hartung en 1983, Tàpies en 1991).

Sinds 1980 heeft elke editie van het toernooi zijn eigen poster, gesigneerd door een andere kunstenaar. Een overzicht van een publieke opdracht die hedendaagse kunst en gravel in dialoog heeft gebracht.
